A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE

Donetta and Corben walking at Campbell Park

Who’d have thought clearing out our kitchen cupboard pantry thingy would end up in a trip down memory lane.

In our kitchen we’ve got a walk in cupboard, we call it a pantry but I don’t know if that’s a Yorkshire thing or a northern thing? It’s one of them ‘oh just sling it in there for now’ cupboards and a year later there’s no more room for anymore slinging.

It also happens to be where the gas metre is and we had a guy coming out to do some checks, so thought best to finally get it cleared out!

Well, as boring as cleaning out a cupboard sounds, it actually ended up being great. We came across old school reports for the girls, some photo’s of them as babies and even their umbilical cords. OK the umbilical cords bit is rank but Corben found it fascinating.

We also found a box we’d saved with Corben’s first shoes in, his first Everton shirt and other memorable bits and pieces.

The photo’s are the best. The girls looking at themselves as babies and Corben trying to make sense of the fact his big sisters were once smaller than he is now, priceless.

We managed to capture some of it in our daily vlog which I guess are now the way we keep some memories to look back on in the future, but in video format.

Do you have old photo’s, clothing and other memorable things saved somewhere in your home?

  1. Our whole house is that sort of cupboard! Seriously the random stuff we have everywhere is amazing!

Isn’t it funny that kids don’t quite get that they were babies once?

(I’ll have a look at the vlog later when I can turn the volume up)
